Job Description

Main areas of responsibility will include daily management of day-to-day operation in the organization of events including:

  • Taking on the Initial Brief and identifying client requirements
  • Preparation of client proposals
  • Budgeting of proposals and meticulous preparation of costing sheets and contracts
  • The organization of memorable events in Malta and beyond
  • Developing Plans, Special Sales Activities and Promotions
  • Negotiations and liaison with suppliers (Hotels, Agents, Transport, Travel Personnel and Ad Hoc Suppliers)
  • Negotiating and closing deals
  • Working very closely with the Head of Incoming
  • Applying the best possible sales techniques with the goal of maximizing revenues whilst ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Managing/overlooking the operation of events and in-house groups
  • Taking over responsibility of the whole event from proposal stage to invoicing

Skills/Background Required

  • Previous experience working with a DMC will be highly considered
  • Experience in event management
  • Team player with a sound understanding of communication and cooperation skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Fluency primarily in Italian, French and/or German, as well as any other language, will be considered an asset
  • Excellent organizational, coordination and time management skills
  • Able to work on own initiative, be pro-active, and ability to work under pressure
  • Attention to detail and creative flair with excellent presentation skills
  • Be knowledgeable of the local MICE scene and current market trends
  • A positive, can-do attitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Be in possession of a clean driving licence
  • Experienced at managing budgets, preparing spreadsheets, costings etc
